Board Committees
ANNUAL CONFERENCE
The Annual Conference Committee plans the chapter's largest event. Every fall we host a conference on a different marketing topic with both nationally known and local speakers. In the past, we've had over 400 attendees. There are many opportunities to volunteer within this committee that touch on a wide variety of skill sets.
COLLEGIATE RELATIONS
The Collegiate Relations committee is focused on adding value to the various collegiate chapters of the AMA, which currently include Dakota County Technical College, St. Cloud State University, St. Thomas, University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, and Winona State University. We work with the student leaders and their members to bridge the gap between being a marketing student and being a marketing professional in their local communities. Through programs such as the annual scholarship, internships, speaker assistance, mentors and more, the Collegiate Relations committee creates added value for both the Minnesota marketing community and the marketing talent of the future.
LEADERSHIP
Leadership on the AMA Board is a three-year commitment, beginning with President-elect. The President-elect shadows the President and learns the ins and outs of the organization, including finances, committees and special initiatives. The President, along with the Executive committee, ensures that committee-level and organizational-level goals are met.
The Immediate Past President is responsible for counsel and special projects when needed. The three-year term allows for consistency within the board and exemplifies commitment to our all-volunteer, non-profit organization.
FINANCE
Proper financial management is a key to the success of any professional association. It is the responsibility of the Finance Committee to ensure the sustained growth and stability of the chapter. The committee is in charge of tracking expenditures and revenues versus the annual plans and goals as well as working through the board to provide funds for all programs and campaigns which will provide value to our members.
MARCOM
The Marketing Communication Committee is responsible for promotion of the association and its events in the local community. The committee is also responsible for the job postings on the MNAMA site and distributing them to the association members.
MEMBERSHIP
The Membership Committee is responsible for growing and maintaining membership levels for the Minnesota chapter. Through a variety of events and programs, the committee aims to ensure that each member realizes the value and benefits of his/her membership. The committee hosts Fall and Spring Networking Events, Marketing Mixers and New Member Orientations; and conducts an annual Member Satisfaction Survey in addition to a monthly Lapsed Member Survey.
PROGRAMMING
The Programming Committee enjoys the opportunity of working with brilliant marketers, both locally and nationwide. The committee works with marketers to create speaking engagements which allow some of the best in the marketing field to share their knowledge and experiences with the members of the Minnesota chapter. The monthly programs form the backbone of the member experience and the committee diligently reviews all feedback to make sure the continuing education needs of our members are being met, as well as providing regular opportunities for our members to meet and network with eachother.
SPONSORSHIP
It is the responsibility of the Sponsorship Committee to develop and maintain relationships between the sponsors and the association. The committee is also responsible for obtaining sponsorships and prizes for the association, assembling sponsor information packages, ensuring sponsors receive recognition at all events and all association publications, ensureing sponsor receives letter of acknowledgment upon receipt of donations and reporting on status of sponsorships to general membership meeting each month.
